Recent activities (2): Traffic models for TG 9 applications from telecommunication and multimedia domains Based on literature 1 XML file per model Available at TUT site already Paper accepted to SoC symposium, 1-2 Nov 2011 http://soc.cs.tut.fi/2011/index.php 20
Recent activities (3): Adding DRAM to TG • KTH’s DRAM model has been integrated into TG • Basic functionality already working • Tasks can now also access shared memories • Cache missses • Explicit read and write operations • Minor additions to XML, more additions to SystemC source codes 21
Example of added DRAM accesses Timer 0 PE 0 DRAM PE 1 Task graph Mapping HW platform 1. Cache miss during task A execution timer 0 Processing element 0 Task A Mem region Z simulate 2 Task B loads source data from mem before ”proces-sing” DRAM Noc Task B Processing element 1 3 Task B writes result data to mem … XML … … … … 22

Specification WG Update Drew Wingard(Sonics Inc), July 28, 2011
Specification WG Issues • Cache coherence extensions • No motivation to cover in CoreCreator • Barrier extensions somewhat stalled • Proposal is very complex (future-proof), but can we afford? • Performance counting parameters agreed • Nearly complete • Profile update was being driven by Vesa • Drew needs to query him for re-engagement • Bug/typo processing has slowed due to resource conflicts • Active attendance: MIPS, Renesas, TI, Sonics
OCP 3.1 Drafting • Waiting on FVWG Coherence protocol checks proposal for review • Have MDWG contribution • Don’t think it includes coherence extensions?!? • Spec WG components progressing… • Estimate ready end August (vacation-dependent) • I expect we should engage tech writer for Sept. 1
OCP 4.0 Concept • Add support for serialized (packet-like) interfaces while maintaining higher level semantic of OCP • Will likely be peer-to-peer (rather than master/slave) • Should be attractive in networking/communications, especially via FPGA • Should also consider how TSV interconnections change opportunity/attractiveness • However • Have not yet been successful at attracting new members to help drive the work

Technical Vision WG Status / Restated Ian Mackintosh(OCP-IP), July 28, 2011
Technical Vision WG Status Restated (Ian) • OCP-IP offering was fully defined as prioritized “whole product” at January 10, 2011 TVWG meeting • 2011 priorities were agreed by TVWG and were disseminated to all WGs for ratification and scheduling - all recommendations were reduced to agreed goals and and should be tracked as overall OCP-IP 2011 objectives • There has been a singledeliverablemade available through WGs since last GSC meeting • Memory Models - NoC BWG under GNU LGPL • There are several IMPORTANT deliverables from the WGs in the pipeline • OCP 3.1 • Debug Spec Version 2.0 • OCP 3.0 Checks and Assertions (Compliance document) • AMBA LUT • Memory Model / TG combination release • Traffic Patterns - NoC BWG • CoreAssembler • January TVWG Session focused on adding new deliverables and tuning-up schedules on current WIP. We still need to ensure we have clear and complete schedules for deliverables requested of the working groups.

Action Item Review (Ian) • See handout – OCP-IP GSC Action Items • ARM Update • Background: • Ian made new contact with Keith Clarke (August 2009) • Secured F2F Meeting with Clarke and ARM attorney (Sept 2009). Following ARM’s floundering, Ian provided OCP-IP drafted bilateral collaborative agreement. Ian supplied this agreement to ARM Oct 28 and and then long-awaited mark up / feedback • After multiple duplicated emails and conversations, received ARM feedback to our Oct 2009 agreement on Feb 17th. 2010 Collaboration agreement was officially signed end of March. • Accompanying three-way license from ARM finally delivered on May 6th. Sonics provided feedback to simple document on June 9th and we finally had this and entire agreement executed by July 30th with effective date July 15th, 2010 • We formally exchanged specification info with ARM early Aug 2010 and “LUT” was to be completed within 4 months of July 15th 2010 by Sonics. We subsequently promised ARM delivery by Feb 26, 2011. What is status of overdue LUT and what happens next to ensure publication?
