What is Five Senses Poetry? • Also known as sensory poetry • Poems written using five senses to describe your topic • sight, taste, touch, smell, hear • Choose any topic • object, special occasion, season, etc. • Five sentences long, with one line for each sense Tompkins, G.E., (2009).   4. Prewriting • “Prewriting is the getting-ready-to-write stage.” (Tompkins, pg. 84) • Get ideas of what you want to write about. • Use graphic organizer to get ideas on paper • Do not use complete sentences.
