Welcome to Graduation I Tutorial for filing an SCSU Undergraduate Application for Graduation
Tutorial Directions This tutorial will take approximately 10 minutes to view. You can either use the “Enter” button on your keyboard to move through the information or “click” your mouse.
When to apply for graduation? Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for graduation 3 semesters prior to the term they expect to be completed with all degree requirements.
Where to get the graduation application? • You can download the application online: http://www.stcloudstate.edu/registrar/pdf/graduationapplication.pdf or • You can request the graduation application form by contacting: The Office of Records and Registration AS 118 St. Cloud State University 720 4th Avenue South St. Cloud, MN 56301-4498
Application for Graduation Print your name as you wish it to appear on your diploma. DO NOT use nicknames or change the spelling of your legal name. You may use a middle initial or delete your middle name.
Preliminary Graduation Evaluation This is the form where you list your current class schedule and all future classes. After you list your class circle the appropriate code to indicate if your class is to be used toward your major (mj), minor (mi), general education (ge), or university elective (ue).
Is there a processing fee? Yes, there is a $20 non-refundable processing fee payable when submitting your application. Please make the check or money order payable to St. Cloud State University.
What happens after submitting the application? Approximately 8-10 weeks after you apply you will receive an evaluation pertaining to the completion of your academic requirements. This evaluation will show if everything is in order or if you have academic discrepancies.
Where is the evaluation mailed? The evaluation of your graduation status will be mailed to your local address on file with the Office of Records and Registration.
What if my local address changes? • With your SCSU ID and Pin you can update your local address online: www.stcloudstate.edu/registrar or • Complete an address form in AS 118 to ensure receipt of the evaluation.
What if my evaluation shows discrepancies? • All discrepancies must be resolved before you can officially graduate from SCSU. • Your ADVISOR or the Office of Records and Registration staff can assist you with resolving discrepancies.
How long until I receive my diploma? Diplomas will be mailed approximately eight weeks after the end of the term of graduation.
What if my diploma address changes before I get my diploma? • With your SCSU ID and Pin you can update your diploma address on-line: www.stcloudstate.edu/registrar or • Complete an address form in AS 118 specifying that the change needs to be made for mailing your diploma.
