Bell Work How To • Always LABEL you bell workwith the date. • You may use the same page for several of your bell works. • ALWAYS use at least THREE complete sentences to answer the question. • Save your bell work for bell work check in’s. • If you miss class, you may go onto Mrs V’s website to get the missed bell work question. It is YOUR responsibility to get the bell work completed.

  3. Bell Work #11 Think about scary movies you have seen. Music often helps to make scary movies even more frightening. What elements of music can make it sound scary? What music sounds most frightening to you? Use Three complete sentences.

  9. The Clarinet looks like….. The clarinet has a mouthpiece, a barrel joint, an Upper joint, a lower joint, Keys and tone holes, and a Bell.

  10. Who invented the clarinet? • The clarinet was invented by a German inventor named Johann Christoph Denner. • Was invented in the 18th century.

  11. How is the Clarinet made? • Made out of grenadilla. ( Also called African Black wood.) • Wood is shaped into a wooden tube with a hole in the middle. • Then Tone holes are drilled. • Followed by keys, a mouthpiece, one reed, & a ligature. A: Ligature holds reed on mouthpiece.

How is the Clarinet played? • The Clarinetist blows air into the mouthpiece causing the reed to vibrate. • To play notes, the clarinetist covers combinations of the tone holes with fingers or keys. • Every note is a different fingering, allowing the air to travel through a different length of tubing before it escapes out of the uncovered holes and the bell.

  13. What does the Clarinet sound like? • The Clarinet is a dark and hollow sound. • The clarinet has a range of 3 octaves. (That means it can play really low or really high!) Dynamite on a Clarinet

  14. FACTS:) • Clarinets are like French Horns because they are both Aerophones. • Clarinet can be made from plastic too. • Julia Roberts played clarinet in school.
