Learning Objectives • Identify the characteristics of parameters and how they are used in Electronic Health Record (EHR) Setup • Examine the menu options used to review and edit various parameters • Identify how selected parameters relate to the configuration of the EHR Graphical User Interface (GUI) • As a team, identify the values of selected parameters and perform the initial EHR Parameter Setup using the parameters

  3. Definition of “Parameter” • Allows CAC to configure RPMS-EHR for Site vs. having Programmer make custom Program • Provides hierarchical settings from User up to Package Package levels should never be changed

  4. Definition • System levels set the parameter for all users • Program checks for user level • If set, takes value and quits • If not set, goes to next highest setting • Quits when it finds a value, up to package

  5. Setting Parameters • Most are set using EHR Menu Options • Site managers can access all Parameters using the General Parameter Tools option

Parameter Menus The first four are for looking at the values LV List Values for a Selected Parameter LE List Values for a Selected Entity LP List Values for a Selected Package LT List Values for a Selected Template The next list is for setting the parameter values EP Edit Parameter Values ET Edit Parameter Values with Template EK Edit Parameter Definition Keyword
