Upper Level Candidate Preparation • Review of Upper Level Candidates 2013 • Mounted Ratings- 1 Candidate DNMS C3 Traditional, not eligible for retest • Unmounted Ratings- 3 Candidates DNMS HB, all eligible for retest • One of three has retested and passed. Congratulations to Lisa Schloss from Poway Pony Club, a new HB! • Preps and Courses Offered for 2014 • HB Class begins November 2013 • *** syllabus available for this prep today • No HA Course planned as of yet • Mounted Prep Proposed for Spring 2014 • Low numbers in past, possibly open to C1 candidates and up? • All NE’s present and all specialties offered • Need to add to calendar
HB Prep Course • Meets once per month for approximately 3 hours • Cost is $30/session • Each meeting focuses on a particular area of the standard • Experts will be visiting this year • Offered to PCers rated C2 HM and up, and intending to take the HB Certification in Summer 2014. NOT A HORSE MANAGEMENT CLASS. • ***Syllabus available today

Instructional Calendars • WHAT???? • A calendar year (2014) of the instruction that your club will offer to all members (D level and up), for Mounted AND Unmounted Instruction. • Intended- Change is Inevitable • Does not have to be overly detailed. • WHY???? • To ensure that every PCer in every Club and Center is getting the entire USPC curriculum. • WHEN/WHERE/WHO??? • Email or Snail Mail to Erin by JANUARY 31, 2014 • *** Sample calendar month available today.

Reminders for Certification Testings • Adhere to USPC Documents regarding testings: • Standards of Proficiency (SOP’s) • Test Sheets • Guidelines for D1-C2 Ratings • Appropriate Facility for Testing (XC) • Tests Completed in 1 Day. All skills on sheet tested THAT day. • All lower level testings need to be done, even when older and higher level kids are joining PC for the first time. • PC recommends doing C testings on different days. • Notify the Region of the Test • Mail Completed Test Sheets in. • Complete Alternative Progression Testings in Proper Order • HM, FL, OF • Appropriate Examiner for Testing • ***List of Regionally approved Examiners available today. • USPC rolling out D1-C2 Examiner Certification Program
D1-C2 Examiner Certifications • New in 2014, offered at Annual Meeting • RICs will be trained at Annual Meeting and can then offer training in their region • Not required, but recommended
