  2. WHY ARE WE HERE TODAY ?TO UNIFY, INFORM, AND EDUCATE OUR STAFF PLAYERS AND PARENTS WITH REGARDS TO THE NOMADS SOCCER CLUB AND THE USSF ACADEMY WHAT IS THE NOMADS? WHAT IS THE NOMAD FAMILY?, METHODOLOGY , POLICY, DISCUSS FULL SUPPORT FROM FAMILIES AND PLAYERS, CLUB EXPECTATIONS,ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES OF STAFF CLUB FEES,FIELDS,CURRICULUM,STYLE OF PLAY, THE UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATION USSDA, NATIONAL TEAMS AND DOUBLE PASS.   3. Derek Armstrong D.O.C (director of coaching) • This person is responsible for the strategic leadership and operation of the (Elite) Academy. The Academy Director typically presides over the Academy Management Team. • DIRECTOR OF COACHING Derek Armstrong, also Board Member • Primary Responsibilities ● Providing positive role model: coaches and staff who lead & inspire ● Cultivating a love of the game, and to provide an environment that creates positive culture and promotes player development on and off the field. ● Is the “face” and voice of the Nomads Soccer Club with parents/community and players. ● Development of competitive club coaching philosophy. ● Development club coaching directive for each age group. ● Development of club coaches education, training and development. ● Liaison and point of contact for national teams, professional clubs, high school and college coaches. ● Manage club policy of player development and movement. ● Addressing the frequent changes in the soccer landscape by adjusting plans and programs accordingly. ● Ensure that the long-range strategy achieves Nomads mission, and that consistent and timely progress toward that goal is achieved by continuously evaluating effectiveness and currency of existing programs and suggesting potential changes.

Technical Director –David Armstrong • Function: • Technical Director Primary Responsibilities ● Providing positive role model: coaches and staff who lead & inspire ● Cultivating a love of the game, and to provide an environment that creates positive culture and promotes player development on and off the field. ● Development and implementation of a competitive club coaching philosophy. ● Assist in Development and implementation a club coaching directive for each age group. ● Implementation of club coach’s education, training and development. ● Recruitment, development and administration of player assessment and evaluations. ● Supervise Coaching for teams. ● Liaison with D.O.C as point of contact for national teams, professional clubs, high school and college coaches. ● Assist with the development and management club policy of player development and movement. ● Addressing the frequent changes in the soccer landscape by adjusting plans and programs accordingly. ● Ensure that the long-range strategy achieves Nomads mission, and that consistent and timely progress toward that goal is achieved by continuously evaluating effectiveness and currency of existing programs and suggesting potential changes.

Nomads Historical Moments • 1976 – 1980 Parent Coaches 2-3 teams founded by Joe Hollow and Tony Lees • 1980 – Derek Armstrong joined as Head Coach • 1982 –Allen Field Club House was built-moved on to Allen field earlier in year • 1986- Brian McManus Joined club • 1985 –All professional coaches • 1987 –Incorporated as a Non-Profit –Joe Hollow left the club. • 1986- 1990 Western Soccer Alliance semi pro team (San Diego Nomads) • 1988 – First Thanksgiving Tournament • 1991 – David Armstrong joined the Club • 1994 – First Coaches Showcase Tournament • 1996 – First Memorial Holiday Tournament • 1996 – Building of Kinsell ,Field Club house added later • 2002 – Founding Member US Club Soccer/Mary Kaliff joined the club • 2007 – 1st club invited into US Soccer Development Academy Program/ Vacated Allen Field • 2013 - Nomads International Soccer School first year

USSDA ACADEMY • Club Membership • The Academy has 197 total clubs, comprised of teams across six age groups in the boys' program: U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 and four age groups in the girls' program: U-14, U-15, U-16/17 and U-18/19. These clubs are all located within geographically-based divisions across gender and age group levels. Each team plays home and away games against the other teams in their division, plus games against non-division opponents from across the country during the 10-month season.

Outside Activity/Competition • Academy players and teams cannot play in any outside competitions without written permission from the Development Academy staff. This includes any other leagues, high school season, tournaments, State Cup competitions, ODP or All-Star events. There are two potential exceptions to this rule, provided they are approved by Development Academy staff: • Domestic and international tournaments: Domestic & international tournaments may be permitted if they meet Academy's technical standards of one game per day and elite competition. Examples of permitted events include the Dallas Cup, Surf Cup, Disney Showcase, and other International events • Possibility for friendly games: Academy clubs can schedule friendly games to provide players with a heightened development experience. The games must not be part of an organized competition (i.e. tournament, league or camp) as defined in the non-participation regulations, and all competitions must adhere to all Academy standards and guidelines.

NOMADS RESIDENCY PROGRAM • Residential soccer academy for elite soccer players.  The Nomads Soccer Club is dedicated to the total development of our player-students, whether they aspire to play soccer professionally, pursue their studies in college while playing soccer, or play in the US Soccer Development Academy. Through our partnership with local educational institutions (Middle and High School), the Nomads International Soccer School stands ready to provide support to every Nomads player who is committed to making soccer his life.  We will help you get to the next level.  • Our educational providers are accredited, A-G and AP courses are offered. Training sessions include proper warm-up techniques, injury rehab education, technical and tactical sessions, as well as strength, agility and speed training. • To be participate in the Soccer School a player must first be selected by our Technical Committee and Technical Director of the Club.. • As players prepare to move on to college or professional teams we will assist them with an exit plan.
