Who share needs and solutions Who work together to improve services (ie work done on website usability testing  the user interface of TERENA conference management system got improved and « 0 » problems or question raised by conference speakers who used the interface) The TERENA Executive Committee extended the mandate of TF-PR for another two years in their meeting in September 2005 Chair : Russell Nelson –UKERNA Who are they? TF-PR Activities (1) • TF-PR WorkshopsWorkshops for the PR Managers / Information Officers of research and education networking organisations, to enable them to exchange ideas and methods for improving communication activities.-> Tartu meeting : Grids Catania : Shibboleth next to be organised : optical networks • PR for DummiesWhat do you do when they ask you to make a video about your NREN?. How to set up a press list, write and give presentations, write a press release etc. -> work in progress • FAQA collection of Frequently Asked Questions and Answers about research and education networking in Europe, for use by TF-PR members for their publications and websites. -> work in progress – will be on a wiki TNC 2006, Catania

  5. TF-PR Activities (2) • News agency website PeaR News is a website for and about European research and education networking organisations. TF-PR members can upload their press releases and other news items, making them available to other members of the task force as well as to journalists and other interested people and organisations. -> day to day tool for our PRs ! RSS feed • Glossary of TermsA glossary of terms relevant for the European research and education networking community, in order to promote the community using the same words for the same things. -> see http://www.terena.nl/activities/tf-pr/glossaries/ TNC 2006, Catania

  6. TF-PR Activities (3) • TF-PR Compendium of Public Relations and Communication Activities of NRENs in EuropeThe compendium provides a yearly comparative overview of both the resources dedicated to PR and the scope of activities undertaken. -> done TNC 2006, Catania

TF-PR Activities (4) • Reproduce Print PublicationsThe task force will identify publications of TERENA members that would be suitable for re-publication for the entire community. -> work in progress • Private Members WebsiteClosed website for TF-PR members with a forum for topics and discussion as well as a photo gallery and contact information of TF-PR members. -> work in progress TNC 2006, Catania
