  8. Style……The Vocoder • The vocoder was a keyboard synthesizer that created robotic-sounding vocals using a breath tube. It was also called a “talk box.” Roger used this instrument, quite frequently, in his lead vocals. • “What James Jamerson did for the bass, Jimi Hendrix for the guitar, and Stevie Wonder for the harmonica, Troutman did for the vocoder.”
