Methodology A questionnaire Followed by observation and interview methods Small speeches by the participants during the valedictory function, (also gave important inputs and insight into effectiveness of workshops) A total of 223 questionnaires were obtained from the users and were used for analysis of data.   30. Participant’s Profile All categories participant’s profile (DRDS & DRTC) ranks of serving LIS professionals at various DRDO laboratories were the participants. However, for the first time, on an experimental basis, an advertisement of a Workshop and National Library (Librarian) Day celebration (2013) at INMAS was put on Lislink website. Several online requests were received, and 21 participants from non DRDO libraries came to participate in the workshop. There was no registration fee for attending the workshop. Dr Rajeev Vij

Training Programmes at Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) “DRDO Libraries for the Future: “Emerging Trends and Technologies in Collection, Competencies and Cooperation” 3-7 December 2012 Targeted Training Centre (TTC), Bengaluru. The course was attended by 33 participants from 28 DRDO laboratories. The faculty included senior LIS professionals from IIT, Chennai; TCS, Bangalore; Indian Institute of Science; Karunya University; IIM Bangalore; NAL; IIM Tiruchirapalli; Pondicherry University; NCSI, IISC; GE Global Research; Raman Research Institute; IGCAR, Kalpakkam; University of Madras; Jubilant Biosys Ltd; CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre; Wipro Technologies; University of Mysore; IIM Kozhikode; and RaniChannamma University, Belgavi. Suggestions LIS training courses should also include a few lectures on interpersonal skills, orientation, leadership, ethics, motivation, etc. Annual training schedule should be prepared and uploaded on DRDO website to enable better planning and participation by the participants At INMAS, on the last day of all courses, a small quiz is conducted to test the alertness of the participants during the lectures during training course/workshop. The top three scorers were awarded. This can be practiced at other places also The institute & library authorities need to provide necessary motivation to the employee who upgrades their professional skills by undergoing training Analysis of training needs for every employee should be conducted every year This will help in planning future training programme Number of practical/hands-on hours should be increased by augmenting ICT infrastructure Dr Rajeev Vij

Suggestions Attendance of course participants should be made mandatory during all training programmes The frequency of conducting such training courses by DRDO should be increased and if possible, they should be conducted at different regions The delivery of course material and power point presentations should be mailed using electronic medium to the participants and also uploaded on DRDO intranet site after completion of the training course/workshop Efforts should be initiated to mail study material to the participants, well before start of the training course.
