What is the EAS? • A service that specialises in providing advice, guidance and support to members who have employer related queries • Specifically focuses on the needs of those members who are employers of staff
Why was it introduced? • The number of calls to the BMA from members with employer related queries is significantly increasing • Changing environment – members becoming more business focused • Need for specialised, tailored advice particular to that members business whether that be a GP Practice or private employer
Who can use this service? • Any member who is an employer of staff whether these be salaried GP’s, nurses, administrative staff etc. • Any member who may have a query with a fellow Partner
What are the benefits of the EAS? • Dedicated team of Advisers • Specialised focus from employer/business perspective • Legal support from expert solicitors in the event of legal action (subject to merits assessment) • Support the Practice Manager/Office Manager on day to day basis in dealing with employee relations issues • Local seminars on employment issues for members or their Practice Managers
