Explicit on all unit plans – How to embed Dimension 6 (including which specific Benedictine values and CSTs will be covered) • Planned response to GSE Formation Framework using two days of PD per year • Staff PD looking at different elements of Dimension 6 (eg CST workshop in subject areas) • Yearly Theme (in 2014, A Passion for Peace) which curriculum leaders use as stimulus Strategies
Year 10 Business Unit • The assessment for this term focused on students conducting an economic investigation of the ability to launch a unique product in an overseas marketplace. • In recognition of the The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers, students explored the rights to full employment, the advocacy for fair tradeand recognition of varying religious beliefs that guide cultural implicationswhen engaging with overseas markets. Some Examples
Science • Focus on the Principle of Respect for Human Dignity • Our unit for Year 7 Semester 2 next year, “Robot Housework”, focuses on the need to provide support for aged care by doing tasks that can no longer be managed in the home. • Women in Engineering program next term – 20 Year 9 & 10 students will go to UQ and participate in a workshop run by “Engineers without Borders” – a group that focusses on engineering solutions for impoverished people in the world.
