  2. Vocabulary • 1. Laws-a rule of conduct agreed upon by a higher authority. • 2. Taxes- contribution given to support government and required persons. • 3. League of Women Voters- a democratic institution in which women try to get people to vote. • 4. Civic Duty- duties that each citizen is required to due by law. • 5. Civic Responsibility- responsibilities which are fulfilled voluntarily.
