Phase 2-implementingactivitiesyoucould use in yourclassroom • Arrange students in groups of three or four. Have each group write five questions about Emily Carr • Have students research the answers to these questions on the Internet and in other sources. Each group is to present what it has learned in a talk show format. One student is to be the talk show host asking the questions, the other students are to be the historical figure (special guests) answering the questions
Phase 3-Evaluation/Revision Each group is to present what it has learned in a talk show format. One student is to be the talk show host asking the questions, the other students are to be Emily Carr answering the questions. Studentsneed to: • Draft the talk show questions • Choose a name for their show (perhaps theme music as well) • Rehearsetheir show • Collect and / or make appropriate props and costumes • Present the talk show • Answer questions from the “studio audience” • Receive feedback from their peers Extension: • Have students write commercials for the intermission, advertising products and services that would have been appropriate to the time and situation.
