  5. Concise overview of the paper: 150 words maximum • Explains purpose of paper • Presents findings of paper • Details importance of research/subject Abstract

  6. Introduces and explains research topic • Provides context for topic • Communicates goals/purpose of the paper Introduction

  7. Effectively summarizes and evaluates your research • Follows chronological structure • Details previous approaches to problem • Outlines approach/methodology • Assesses and comments on results • Fulfills goal/purpose outlined in introduction Body

  8. Placed only in body of paper • Placed at top or bottom of columns, after mention in text • Each figure requires a caption • Numbered sequentially to match order cited in text Figures
