  3. Exemples • Je vais au café et mon petit frère va a l’école. • Nous n’allons pas a Paris. • Vous allez au café.

  4. Uses of ALLER • To go • To ask how someone is • Comment vas-tu? • Comment allez-vous? • “On y va” • Let’s get going! • Let’s go! • Do you want to go?

  5. Other expressions: • Vas-y! Come on! Go ahead! Do it! • Va-t’en!! Go away! • Allons-y!! Let’s go!!

  6. Y + aller • When you use aller without saying WHERE you are going, you must put the pronoun “y” before the verb. • Literally it means “there” • Nous y allons. We are going (there). • J’yvais. I am going (there). • Je vais au café. I am going to the café.
