Collaborative tools can be used to manage learning and to support the development of communities. MSG is a web application for instant messaging that allows you to contact fellow LabSpace users FlashMeeting is a webconferencing application offering instant online meetings Compendium is software for visual thinking, used to connect ideas, concepts, arguments, websites and documents.
MSG allows you to see a list of online users for each unit that you are participating in Available Away Not disturb This shows that 6 of your 9 contacts are onlineOverall 12 of the 21 LabSpace users are online
With MSG you can write messages to any online participant Marc contacts Chris with a query about the location of a resource. And Chris answers sending the website url.
Throughout the LabSpace presence indicators show online contacts and allow you to initiate chats with them Marc can contact Alex by clicking on the green button
In FlashMeeting you can book a webconference 1. Choose date, time, duration, attendees 2. Write a title, description and keywords 1 2 3. You can also make the meeting public 3
FlashMeeting itself requires no installation. You only need the Adobe Flash ‘plug in’ and a webcam.
A replay of a meeting is available for those who may have been unable to attend or wish to review it.
Compendium is software for visual thinking, used to connect ideas, concepts, arguments, websites and documents. You can see some examples of maps
In Compendium you can drag and drop any kind of document or text from the unit, internet and your computer Select and click on the document, text or picture. Drag and drop it into your map
