  4. Sustainability Challenge Every class has been given 3 challenges, your teachers will record how you do on the week. The winning class with have a special surprise. Are you Ready?

  5. Sustainability Challenge 1 Making these water cups uses energy and resources! The cups only get used for seconds then go in the bin. Can we live without them? YES! For everyday this week, if you do not have to use a cup you get a point for your class. If you use one, you lose 5 points! Everyone keep an eye out for people using the cups!

  6. Sustainability Challenge 2 Wasting power and electricity is very bad for our planet. If there is noone in your classroom do you need lights on? Do you need the smartboard on? Make sure everytime you leave a room you switch everything off. Ecobeasts will be doing spot checks during sustainability week! No switches on = 5 points! Switches on = lose 5 points!

  7. Sustainability Challenge 3 Food waste is a huge problem. Do you know lots of people around the world don’t have enough food to eat? Do you also know that it takes energy and resources to make the food you eat? In our school canteen we are lucky to have lots to choose from, so it’s easy to fill your plate. Then when you are full you throw away lots of food! Can you take only what you will eat? Every day this week, if you can only take what you need and eat it all, have a clean plate, you will get 2 points. You need 2 people in your class to see this happening to get your points.

  8. Good Luck for the Sustainability Challenge! Remember there is a surprise for the class that makes the most effort, so support your classmates! Also remember to be kind and help each other, if you see someone from another class using a cup, maybe they just forgot, so you can kindly remind them! Sustainability is about Teamwork!

  9. EcoBeasts Competition WE NEED AN ECO BEAST! What does an Ecobeast look like? What colours would you use? Can you draw one? You can use pencils or crayons or paint or anything you like! To enter the competition, hand your entries into the school library. Have a look at some examples other schools have done for ideas! We will vote for the top three from Shrewsbury to enter into the EcoBeasts competition with all the others schools! Exciting!
