Maureen Kerr Maureen Kerr has been nominated because of the enthusiasm with which she set up and delivered a training course in Home Energy Conservation for the Housing Executive’s staff. The course was delivered to the Housing Executive’s network of over 50 offices across Northern Ireland comprising nearly 3,000 staff. The half day course was very well received by staff and subsequently the course was made available to Housing Associations and community groups. Northern Ireland

Cliff Duff Cliff launched Easington's “Warm Homes Campaign” 10 years ago in order to raise district wide awareness of fuel poverty and home insulation grant schemes for local residents. The Campaign has received a national award from the NEA and was short listed for the LGC awards. There are over two hundred community groups and venues that take part in the Campaign to promote energy grant schemes to residents. North East

Richard Smith • Since joining Doncaster Met. Borough Council in 2001, Richard Smith has: • Set up the Save’n’Warm scheme. The scheme has delivered insulation measure to over 26,000 households. The scheme has secured over £9m from utilities. • Co-ordinated the South Yorkshire EEAC from 2004 tripling the staff force from 4 to 12 • Secured match funding and delivered Barnsley MBC’s private sector insulation scheme every year from 2002. • Administered the South Yorkshire Hotspots project from August 2007. A partnership to deliver fire safety, affordable warmth, quit smoking advice and benefit entitlement checks to vulnerable households. • Co-ordinated and delivered the South Yorkshire Housing and Regeneration Partnership heating programme. Utilising Regional Housing Board funds of £2.95m from 2005 and will deliver the programme through to 2011 utilising a further £3.6m • Was a successful CEEF applicant on behalf of Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham. £49k from DEFRA and receiving £60k from Doncaster PCT. CRed Suffolk is a partnership comprising the University of East Anglia, all the local authorities in Suffolk, Suffolk County Council, the Energy Saving Trust, the Environment Agency, Suffolk ACRE and the Groundwork Trust. Barbara Sarbinowska Barbara is the officer responsible for implementing the action plan of the affordable warmth strategy “Keeping Warm in Worcester” and in the very short time she has been in post has raised the issue of energy conversation and the environmental throughout the Council and wider community. Adrian Roberts Adrian Roberts from Gwynedd Council has been awarded the 2008 Wales HECA Award for his sustained enthusiasm and success within the field of domestic energy efficiency and his highly proactive and holistic approach to alleviating fuel poverty. We also present this award in the hope that Adrian will once again grace us with his mellifluous karaoke tones after last year's impressive impromptu performance during the evening’s entertainment.
