  2. Vallecamonica OnLIne is a public project for local development, financed by the Consortium of Municipalities B.I.M. of Camonica valley (north Italy, Lombardia region), planned and managed in partnership with CSC social non profit enterprise.

  3. Promoters and CSC enterprise project • In 1998 CSC presented VOLI project to the Consortium B.I.M. which shared the project deciding to finance it with a long-term agreement. • CSC could carry out its project of social enterprise also supported by a special sponsoring of Fondazione Cariplo. • In the first year of activity MIP (University consortium of Milan Polytechnic) worked together with CSC on the realization of the final management project.

  4. On line from June 1999, a civic network which gives information and services to citizens. These contents come from local authorities and from the active part of the civil society. Starting from the beginning of 2001 an Intranet of Municipalities adherent to B.I.M. and other local public administrations. VOLI is based on two integrated projects:

  5. VOLI infrastructures • B.I.M. has its own hardware and software infrastructures built using European Leader II funds. • B.I.M. is a self-sufficient provider of services and linking (in telematics way). • These infrastructures are managed by CSC

  6. CSC social co-operative • May 1998: 7 employees (3 handicapped), 5 woman and 2 man. • October 2000: 12 employees (5 handicapped), 9 woman and 3 man. • Creation of new qualified resources thanks to specific vocational trainings. • Engagement of high qualified web designers.
