Goals • Students will be able to use pre-reading strategies to comprehend their text and readings fluently with appropriate rate, accuracy and prosody.
Newspapers Scissors Construction Paper Glue Pencils Flash Cards Markers Crayons Classroom Books Lined Paper Materials Needed
Class Participation 1. Provide a newspaper article to the entire class • Read aloud to class • Provide questions to class (place class into groups) • Allow students to answer questions in groups • Each group will then present to the class
Relay Race • Develop Spelling Word List • Divide Class into Teams • Use flash cards to provide words for the Race
Read, Play & Draw Students will read a play aloud. Then draw a part of the play that they enjoy the most. Then present drawings with verbal explanation.
Readings Allow Students Time Daily to Read a Book of Their Choice.
