  3. Composition and Design • A photo is an image placed inside a frame. Good photography is deciding what to place inside that frame and how to arrange it. • -Rule of thirds -Balance -Angles -Lines -Shapes -Textures

  4. The Rule Of Thirds • The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts

  5. Balance • Two equal parts • Creates a sense of balance with elements • Sense of equal weight

  6. Unbalanced Composition • Artist arranges the subject matter until it looks right • Background distractions unwanted
