  4. Definition / History • Takes place annually between the 8th and 12th days of Zil-Hajj, the final month of the lunar Islamic calendar • Not an obligation • Compulsory on those who are physically and financially stable • Comforts of life are to be sacrificed

  5. Importance of Hajj • Inculcates the spirit of love and devotion • Hajj helps unifies peoples minds and hearts • Main aim – please their lord and have their sins forgiven • Pilgrims come from all parts of the globe but share the same rites and hopes
