Information Technology • Department of Information Technology is the offshoot of University College of Information Technology (UCIT) with the aim to provide a state of the art learning environment to the youth of the nation. • The history of the UCIT dates back to 1987 when the Department of Computer Science was established at the University of the Punjab. • The department of IT offers a B.Sc. in computer science program to the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary exam.
Bachelor of computer science • Whole degree program is divided in 8 semesters. • Courses are fixed in each smesters. • Elective courses are only offered in final year. • Whole degree program consists of 141 credit hours. • Credit hours system in Pakistan is equivalent to Europeon Credit Transfer System (ECTS ).
Examination System • Exams are held in a big haal under managment. • In IT dept Each subject comprises of 100 points. • Points are devided into 3 parts . • 35% for mid term exams. • 15% Sessional . • Assignments,exercises,small tasks • 50% for final term exams.
Facilities • University management provide well knowledgeable faculty to each department. • Removing load shadding problem by electric generator. • Open shelves library • Fully air conditioned and Multimedia class room. • A big haal for any type of event. • 3 computer labs. • Two for experiment ,Exercises and classes. • One is general purpose lab.
Dues • Every student must pay the University dues before the begining of every smseter.
Living Expense • University campus do not provide the hostle facility to the students because the campus is new . • Students should arrange their residence before arrive in the gujranwala city. • Each student outside from the city face 3000 to 4000 Rs living expense per month
Personal Experience • Exams were held in very strict environment in big exam halls. • Welcome and farewell parties. • Educational and recreational trips. • Exercises and assignments were mandatory for grades.
