  2. What is Cardiology? • At a family function last week, I happened to meet a distant relative of mine, and we got into talking. She mentioned that her daughter is an MBBS graduate. She is an ambitious girl. She sat for her NEET PG exam to get admission to one of the best PG medical colleges in the country. Sadly, her performance in the exam could not get her a PG medical seat. Both the daughter and her parents were very disappointed. This is just one incident. • Their next option was to try for a PG medical seat through management quota, and sure they did. Disappointment greeted them here too. • So, what are the options in front of an MBBS holder, who • Has not secured enough marks in his/her NEET exam to be eligible for a PG medical seat? • Can’t afford the PG fees in private colleges? • Doesn’t have enough to pay the management seat cost?

However, it is crucial to know alternative options like PG medical seat through management quota or fellowship courses in case you fall short on your performance in NEET PG. • Eligibility criteria for a PG medical seat through management quota is between 40% and 50% depending on your social group (FutureMBBS). The annual course fee for a PG medicine program varies from colleges to colleges and from specializations to specializations. However, a PG medical seat fee through NEET PG could be roughly between 10 lakhs and 15 lakh, whereas a PG medical seat through management quota will cost a whopping four times of it (Times of India).
