MDL Mission Study Summary • MDL developed mission concept for calorimeter configuration, based on customer inputs • MDL team presented formal, final report out to customer team • Presentations were reviewed by MDL team for internal consistency on Thursday • Delta options identified for last X-ray mission study (“Delta” week) • TBD - Decision to be made at later date by customer team

Mission Summary – Final (same as Monday) Orbit parameters – L2, 800,000 km Lissajous LV – Falcon 9 Launch date – March 25, 2022 Mission Lifetime – 3 year minium / 5 year goal Mass estimate – payload: 221 kg (Instrument) 319 kg (X-Ray Mirror) – 540 kg total Power estimate – payload: 686W (Instrument) , 320 W (X-Ray Mirror) – 1006 W total Mission class –B Disposal plans – Same as Grating Mission ( 1 m/s delta-V at EOL) Study name: MDL X-ray Grating WBS: 244904.04.10.01.02 ”MDL X-ray Cal” in remarks

MDL Areas of Concentration/Study Drivers • Use of Solar Panels to balance CP-CG offset • Adapt AXSIO inner Mirror purge cover for this SC concept • Need for heater power on the SC structure adjacent to FMA to maintain FMA thermal requirements If possible… • Increase pitch to +/-45 trade for articulated solar panel

Study Plan for the week • Monday AM: review study expectations and identify key issues PM: 1) define ConOps 2) discuss derived subsystem requirements and ask questions • Tuesday AM: System drivers – TBD subsystems PM: Rest of subsystems • Wednesday AM: I&T Flow, Mission Ops PM: Presentation preparation • Thursday AM: Check presentations for consistency PM: Finish presentations • Friday Presentation with customers, including remote customer team • Monday following 1) Lessons learned, process improvements, lab status, etc. 2) Finalize presentations and wrap up the study
