Career Readiness and Common Core State Standards Students need to be prepared for careers that require at least some college to meet the needs of the job market of the future. Transition from post-secondary education begins at age 14 ½ in Illinois
Funding Field Trips Apply for mini-grants from the school district’s foundation Seek out assistance from local service organizations or chambers of commerce Seek out other reliable education foundations and charities
College Experiences • Start with small groups • Scout out cross-curricular activities or destinations nearby the college • Build relationships with access and accommodative services offices and admissions offices • Frontload activities related to college and careers
