Physical & Psychological Changes • Concerned about your looks and appearances • Anxious and uncertain • Make close relationships outside family- parents are not as important as they were before • Show rebellion • More time with mobile phones and internet • Do not get up early in the morning • Attraction towards to opposite sex • Ready to experiment- drugs, alcohol
How to cope with these Changes? • Clarity of vision and direction. Think beyond the moment: set goals for the semester, the year, your college career. “If you’re standing in the right direction, all you have to do is walk.” • Be organised According to Woody Allen, “Eighty percent of success is- showing up.” • Physical fitness- food habits • Pursue healthy habits, hobbies and passions
How to Cope with these Changes? • Be assertive. Create your own support systems, and seek help when you realize you may need it. • Take control of your time. Plan ahead to satisfy academic obligations and make room for everything else. • Stretch yourself. No substitute for hard work • Make thoughtful decisions. Do not let others decide for you.
