Introduction – my background • 15 years as charity CEO and trustee • Over 20 years’ leadership/management of health and social welfare charities • Including UK Haemophilia Society, Terrence Higgins Trust, Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities, Alcohol Concern and UK FPA • Current trustee of Woman’s Trust (domestic violence counselling)

AAGBI online • Internet allows us to reach out to far more than we can through face to face • Website re-launched and plans to develop inter-activity through forums, surveys • E learning and app development coming in 2012 • Linkmen communications – new section on the website • Could we do regular phone and online ‘virtual meetings’ with you?

Building profile and influencing policy agenda • Healthcare policy and issues affecting members – AAGBI responsive and nimble • We are able to consult with members quickly through online surveys (e.g. private practice, NHS pensions) • AAGBI’s marketing and communications capacity much enhanced – specialist posts in staff team with expertise in website design, publications, marketing and PR • Linkmen are our ‘eyes and ears’ in the field • We appreciate your feedback
Building our programmes in UK and overseas • Education programmes being planned for 2012 in response to evaluation • E learning major change • Wellbeing services – personal and professional • International work through IRC and supporting Lifebox now independent charity • Bid to host 2020 World Congress of Anaesthesiology in 2020
Organisation development and future strategy • Investment in skills/capacity building • Staff team has grown to 23 with expertise and skills to support membership and deliver programmes • Investing in improving infrastructure – finance systems, IT • 21 Portland Place – grade II listed building – how can we make even better use of this resource for education, meetings, somewhere for members to visit?
