Vision 2020 - Goals • Build awareness and capacity among Admins, SCs parents, students and teachers regarding nature and needs gifted children. • Continue to improve identification of low income and ELL students and strategies meet their needs. • Every student learns something new every day. • Retain gifted students within the district until graduation.
Vision 2020 - Strategies Year 1 Presentations to Administration Highlight risk factors for Gifted students Administrators share successes and challenges June Teacher Academy Differentiation, Depth and Complexity, Parent needs assessment Parent/community quarterly meetings/classes Higher order thinking - 2ndgrade Problem solving activity prior to CogAT testing ALPS Move toward standards aligned, student directed ALPs, pilot Naviance at secondary
