  2. He went back to the house of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton, and pretended to not know about the disappearance of Mary. Our book, book 2, began with Bigger waking up in his home after the murder of Mary Dalton. Bigger went to his girlfriends house and that is when he start getting the idea to bring her in the plan and make $10,000 from Mary’s absence • Bigger was confronted by Mr. Dalton’s private investigators.

  3. Mr. Britten then accuses Bigger of being a Communist and pins his head against the wall • Bigger then writes a ransom note shoves it under Mr. Dalton’s door and goes to Bessie's house. While getting questioned Bigger confesses that Mary was with Jan to the private investigator Jan then arrives to the house. Jan runs into Bigger and asks him why is he lying

Bigger was told by Peggy to clean out the ashes in the furnace, but dreaded it because all the reporters were lingering. • Bigger ran away, with Bessie and began discussing their lives together on the run. • The police began searching every where for Bigger. Papers were made calling him a murderer. They searched his home and every abandoned building. • The search was over and the police finally found Bigger. • Bigger was captured and the town wanted him lynched.
