  12. 10 YEARS AFTER THE 1ST RECORD OF THE EMERALD ASH BORER IN MOSCOW • It is recorded in 9 regions of Russia • It occurs as far as 460 km south from Moscow • The range occupies at least 150 000 km2 • The westernmost locality is 180 km from the border of Russia

CONCLUSIONS • The invasive range in European Russia is expanding. • The pest destroys both introduced and indigenous ashesspecies. • Ashes in forests, protective forest belts and green plantations are in danger. • The emerald ash borer will appear in adjacentcountries within several years. • The economic and ecological impact could be tremendous.
