How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups and issues? • My commercial challenges conventions by having characters who are racially diverse with there only being one white person as opposed to the token black person normally used. In my commercial there are two black girls, one Hispanic boy, and one white girl. These types of characters are rarely portrayed in the media so I sought to fix that. Another demographic that isn’t shown often enough are girls and when they are shown its rarely in a good light as they're mostly the “crazy” ex-girlfriend or the mean cheerleader. This video doesn’t do much but it does show that girls, especially girls of color, are capable of having fun and being nice just like other people.

  3. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as real media text. My commercial would be aired on tv possibly on a kids channel since it is a game. It would be a great way for the message to get across because many households with kids and teenagers have cable and a lot of them would want to buy it because it seems like a fun game. This would also allow it to reach a broader demographic of people because it would be broadcast in many different languages. I think people would be very interested in the game because of how fun and weird it seems.

  4. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? This assignment was much easier to film than the first one but the editing was a lot harder because I had to do it all on my own. In the previous assignment I didn’t have much time editing that was mostly my partners job while I filmed. There was a lo of editing that I wanted to do but I couldn’t remember how and had to call my teacher many times. I also had to have my friend help me a lot. That was the hardest part but I was able to figure it out. Drawing the storyboard was a lot easier this time and I was able to come up with an idea of what I wanted to do pretty quickly.

  5. How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware, and online- in this project? To film I used a handheld camera provided by the school along with a tripod. After filming I uploaded it to a computer and used pinnacle studios to edit it all together. After that I attached the file to an email and emailed it to our teacher for it to be graded.
