An Arvola lesson guide production How to Prepare a Graph Tracking your TCAP progress
Gather your materials. • Two sheets of paper • Two colored pencils • Ruler
Head your paper correctly. • Name • Period Date
Title your paper. Heading Title of Paper
Draw a horizontal line four inches. Vertical Line Horizontal Line
Title your graph 1.5 inches below the horizontal axis. The name of the first graph is called “TCAP Reading Graph.”
Outline your graph and title of your graph in the color of your choice.
Place ten grid lines on your y-axis. These are grid lines.
Label the y-axis grid lines 100 to 1000. 1000 400 300 200 100
Label the y-axis “Scale Score.” 1000 Scale Score 400 300 200 100
Under the dates, place the grade you were in during that year. 2012 5th 2010 3rd 2011 4th 2013 6th
Pick up the second colored pencil. Trace the grid marks on the y and x axes, the numbers on the y-axis, the dates and grades on the x-axis, and the titles of both x and y axes. Whew!
Write the words “SMART Goal:” under the title of your graph.
Graph one is complete!!!! But your assignment is not complete.
Turn your paper over. Repeat the steps for Graph Two. The title of graph two will be “TCAP Writing Graph.”
Once graphs one and two are complete, set up graph three. Call it “TCAP Math Graph.”
Now, you are ready to plot your scores on the graphs. I’m excited to see how well you did!
