The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) was Established by Royal Decree on 9 September 2007 • Focus for development and supervision of the implementation of Government Policy for the Water and Electricity Sectors • Direct employees; approximately 1300 • Indirect employees ; ~5500 contractor staff • PAEW is responsible for water supply in all regions in Oman Except in Dhofar region, Sohar Wilayat PAEW Overview

Seawater desalination represents 75% of the total drinking water production, of which 3% is produced by PAEW through approximately 30 R.O Plants. Wells provide 25% of the total water supply in the country (less than 10% in Muscat) 90% of the water is distributed through pipes (99% in Muscat) and 10% through tankers PAEW’s water supply system
