  2. JUST IMAGINE….. You are at the doctor’s office.... You are going over the conversation in your head last night with your spouse about which vacation you are going to go on this year…. You are worried that you won’t get to pick up your children on time to get them to soccer practice…. You are thinking about what you’ll need to get at the grocery for dinner this week…. You are glad that you signed up for the good insurance program through work this year since it seems like you’ve been getting sick a lot lately….. Your doctor comes in and tells you that you have cancer and they are scheduling you for additional tests and a consult with a surgeon. They have a plan for you to beat this…..

  3. NOW IMAGINE….. You are worried because you just used your last $25 to top off your gas tank to drive 50 miles to the doctor…. You are watching the clock thinking about the time you’re missing at your hourly paid job that you just started after months of looking…. You can’t afford child care for your children and hope that you can get home in time before they get home from school…. You are worried about affording the copay for this visit with the new insurance that you signed up for online last week…. You are replaying the conversation that you had with your spouse last night about the bills that are rolling in and you are going to need to pick up another job…. Your doctor comes in and tells you that you have cancer and they are scheduling you for additional tests and a consult with a surgeon. They have a plan for you to beat this…..

  4. REALITY IS….. Both scenarios are VERY scary. Both scenarios are VERY real. The stress of a cancer diagnosis can be severe. Imagine the increase in that stress when you truly are not sure if you can “afford” to win the battle.

Become ALink to Hope: HOW CAN WE HELP….. “My Ride” Program: $25/month will help a patient with transportation to and from their medical appointments or treatments “Stress Relief” Program: $30/month will provide stress relief for a person facing cancer with a monthly donation that will assist with: childcare costs and/or co-pay assistance. “Reassuring Hand” Program:$40 and up/month will provide a reassuring hand for an underserved person that is in need of screening for cancer or is facing a cancer diagnosis.
