  2. The Mandate to the Church Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

  3. 143 MILLION. The number of children today estimated to be orphaned or abandoned worldwide.

  4. Orphans… That means that one child in 13 around the world is an orphan…

  5. Children of Poverty…… More than one billion people live in poverty – on an income of less than one dollar (70 pence) a day

  6. Children of Poverty…… 9 million children under the age of five die of preventable diseases – every year

  7. Street Children…… An estimated 100 million children live on the streets around the world

  8. Exploited Children…… An estimated 1.2 million boys and girls are trafficked each year into exploitative work

  9. Child Soldiers…… Hundreds of thousands of children are fighting in wars around the world

  10. The Effect of HIV/AIDS…… Every 15 seconds a child is orphaned by AIDS.

  11. Terrible Choices…… Many widows and grandmothers are unable to care for their children

  12. Hope for Kids International…… ……reflects the love of Christ by rescuing children in crisis
