PREHISTORY VOCAB. • Prehistory – the period of time beforewritten records, the years before 3000 B.C.
StoneAge – earliest known period of human culture, tools were made of stone PaleolithicAge - “Old Stone Age” – humans as nomadic hunter-gatherers NeolithicAge - “New Stone Age” – humans as settled farmers
nomadic – group that has no permanent home; migrates constantly hunter-gatherers – early humans who moved constantly to follow food sources
Neolithic Revolution – the change from hunter-gatherer society to farming (agriculture)
sedentary – group of humans who are settled in one area; permanent home domesticate – to tame & use animals for a purpose
