  1. A new way to create a Factor tree using a TI-15 calculator

  2. First set up your calculator: 1. Press  button to enter the Fraction Menu. 2. The selection U n/d n/d is displayed. This lets you choose to display fractions results as mixed numbers (U n/d) or improper fractions (n/d). 3. Press the left and right arrow keys to move the underline to choose the display you want.

  3. 4. In this case, move the underline to n/d . 5. Press the down arrow , and move the underline to MAN. This lets you choose to simplify fractions manually (using the  key). 6. Select . Now your calculator is ready!

  4. Ask your teacher for some more questions or make up your own. Remember: You should check your answers by multiplying all the factors together!
