Introduction Have you ever noticed all the different weapons in the Civil War. The weapons in the field were made to be mobile. Horses were used to pull heavier weapons. Weapons were very important in the Civil War.
What kind of weapons were in the field? The weapons in the field were made to be mobile. When the soldiers had to march across country it was easier for them to have mobile weapons. Some of the weapons were the 1858 Remington, 1853 Enfield musket, and the 1861 Springfield musket.
What kinds of weapons did horses pull or carry Horses were used to pull the heavier weapons. One horse could pull 3,000 pounds. It was easier for the horses to pull weapons than a soldier push it all the way across the country. Some of the weapons were the Gatling gun, 6 pounder field artillery, and the 12 pounder field cannon.
