Life and Work • As was mentioned, her loved Shakespeare and it is believed that those plays influenced his ideas • 1885: Freud went to Paris to study with Jean-Martin Charcot to conduct research on hypnosis. • Many of his theories are based on sexual themes • He at first believed that sexual molestation at a young age was a precursor for types of psychoneuroses • He later said that the repressed sexual thoughts of childhood led to psychoneuroses • He also had a weird theory that he was attracted to his mom when he was 2.
