BABE RUTH

1. BABERUTH “Baseball was, is and always will be to me the best game in the world.”

2. Babe Ruth was born February 6,1895 in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Kate Schamberger-Ruth and his father George Herman Ruth. .

3. Babe’s first team was the Boston Red Sox. He played with them from 1914-1919. He only hit nine home runs while playing with them.

4. Babe was traded to the New York Yankees in 1920. He won 4 World Series (1923, 1927, 1928, and 1932) rings in with them.

5. Babe had a passion for playing golf. He played during spring training in St.Petersburg, Florida.

6. Babe signed a contract with the Boston Braves in 1935 before his retirement from baseball that same year.

7. As a player, Babe stopped playing baseball in 1935.Babe Ruth played his last game on May 30, 1935 after playing 28 games for the Boston Braves. In June of 1938, he took a coaching job with the Brooklyn Dodgers. This was the last job he had in Major League Baseball.

8. Babe Ruth broke over 60 records and hit seven hundred fourteen home runs. He made it into the Hall of Fame in 1936. 1936

9. Babe died of lung cancer at the age of 53 in New York City on August 16, 1948.

10. Babe was buried in The Gates of Heaven Cemeterylocatedin Hawthorne, NY.
