My Background • I am a graduate of Hempfield Area High School (1975)- National Honor Society • I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Grove City College (1979)- Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Social Sciences. • I participated in the Study Abroad Program and studied at the City of London Polytechnic. I also traveled extensively throughout Europe. • I am certified to teach K-8. • I have a Master’s Equivalency with graduate credits from Penn State, Millersville, IUP, and Westmoreland Intermediate Unit.

Organization • Use the organizer! (accordion file) • Write your assignments/due dates everyday in your homework notebook. • Keep your binders organized. • Check my website if necessary. • Be ready for class with necessary assignments and materials. • Check your mailbox daily. • Know your schedule/routine. • You will receive reminders about work owed!
Classroom Rules • Keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind remarks to yourself. • Raise your hand before speaking. • Ask permission to leave the classroom. • Check the schedule, then organize all materials. • Follow directions the first time they are given. • Treat others the way you would like to be treated!

Home School Connection • We welcome your help! • VIPS, parties, Sixth Grade Party, Olympic Day • supplies (tissues, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes…) • clerical help (example: hole-punching, stapling, and more!) • We are a team- student, teacher, family! • nightly homework help • Please read with your child! • “Baggy Book” • ORFs
Tutoring • Special help is available most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:35. • Students may also work on make-up work during this time. • It begins this year on September 17.
Conferences • Please note the sign-up sheet for November conferences. • Please understand Mrs. Gaskey and Mrs. LaPresti will conduct joint conferences. • Due to time constraints, please sign up for a conference only if you feel one is truly necessary at this time. • (We will make every attempt to contact all parents/guardians at some point during the school year.)
