6th Grade Country Project • To the left is an example of a project cover. The name of the country is prominent. This student put his name on the inside cover, but it could have gone on the front cover as well. • Pictures, designs, flags, and other artwork (in this case, the nation’s shield) help to make the cover attractive.
6th Grade Country Project • The first page of the project is the Table of Contents. This is probably the last thing you will do. This student just listed the order of the sections, but you can also number the pages and indicate their locations here.
6th Grade Country Project • This student used construction paper to make an attractive flag of the nation. The flag must be hand created. It can be drawn and colored, painted, sewn, or some other means of hand creating the flag. • It cannot be printed from your computer.
6th Grade Country Project • To the right you will see this student’s hand drawn map. He also included a printed copy which is OK, but not necessary. The graded map will be the hand created one. Be sure to label the capital, major cities, and the important geographic features such as mountains and oceans.
6th Grade Country Project • This student used a colorful page with pictures and charts to introduce the Geography and Climate section. These section dividers can make the project more attractive.
6th Grade Country Project • Geography & Climate: One to two pages handwritten. Give a description of the location of the country as well as what the land is like. Make sure to include major geographic features. If it is a large country, there may be several varying areas to describe. Geography & Climate – page 1
6th Grade Country Project • Then give an overview of the climate. Be sure to note any important seasonal changes as well as any extreme climate occurrences such as hurricanes, blizzards, and monsoons. Also note how the climate affects the people living in the country. Geography & Climate page 2
