Adaptive Multiscale Simulation Infrastructure - AMSI • Hierarchy of capabilities (and focuses) • User-level: support for implementing multimodel simulations on massively parallel HPC machines • Simulation-level: allow dynamic runtime workflow management to implement versatile physical simulations • CompSci-level: Provide generic algorithms supported by real-time minimal simulation/program meta-modeling • Developer-level: facilitate all of the above while minimizing AMSI system overheads and maintain robust code • Support simulations for a variety of users: Engineers, Mathematicians, Computer Scientists, etc…(Undergrad, Graduate, Professional) • Generic algorithms support an expandable variety of problems
Adaptive Multiscale Simulation Infrastructure - AMSI • Currently supporting: multiscale soft-tissue mechanics simulation • Primary Scale: • Macroscale (Finite Element Analysis) • Auxiliary Scales: • Microscale Fiber-Only-RVE (Quasistatics) • Microscale Fiber-Matrix-RVE (FEA) • (future project) Additional cellular scale(s) (FEA) • Intermediate scale between current scales • Additional problems available – SCOREC and partner companies/universities • Initial results: SIAM PP14 Macroscale Fiber-Only Fiber-Matrix
