  5. Effort and Attitude • Effort and Attitude are the two things every athlete must bring everyday. • We will be addressed in a respectful manner. • Yes We Can, Yes We Will!

  6. North Ridge Athletic Mission Statement To provide student athletes with opportunities to learn, grow and experience success in a positive environment that is supported by staff, parents and the community.

  7. Academic Monitoring • All North Ridge Athletes are required to complete all school work. • Coaches will check in with all teachers to follow up on athletes. • Athletes will need to schedule tutorials that do not conflict with practice times. • If they do not take care of this on their own, we will pull them out of practice. • Resulting in loss of game time.

  8. Tutorial Times • 7th Grade • Tutorial plans should be made after school. • 8th Grade • Tutorial plans should be made for before school.

  9. Conduct • All North Ridge Athletes are required be respectful and will behave in the classroom. • D-Hall- 100 Up- Downs • Office Referral • FNS- miss the 1st half • Suspension- will miss the first game when they return

  10. Locker Room Responsibilities • North Ridge Athletics will not be responsible for any lost personal belongings. • Thieves will be removed from athletics. • Every athlete receives a lock and locker. Lock everything up! • We will investigate but will not be held responsible for missing belongings.

  11. Chain of Command • If you have a question or concern: • Ask your athlete’s coach first. • Then ask the head coach for that sport. • Athletic Coordinator • Mr. Ellis • Chris Ferris

  12. Removal from Athletics • 3 Referrals • Stealing • 2 failed six weeks • Not dressing out and participating in Athletics.

  13. Boys Athletics • Can only sign up for athletics if you plan to play football. • You will still be able to try-out for other sports before or after school. • If you make the team your schedule will be changed. • 7th Grade will still have Developmental

  14. Attendance • The athlete is responsible for their attendance. • Attendance will be checked everyday at the same time. • If your child is late it is their responsibility to find a coach so they are not counted absent.

  15. 7th Grade Football • A- Team, B-Team, and Developmental. • Developmental plays on Wednesdays at 4:30. • All games will be at North Ridge.

  16. Football Practice Times • 7th Grade • Locker room opens at 6:45 a.m. and we are on the field stretching at 7:15 a.m.. • 8th Grade • Practice ends at 5:15 p.m..

  17. 7th Grade Volleyball • Traveling Teams- A, B, Maroon, White • A-Team: 10-12 girls • B-Team: 10 girls • Maroon/White: 5 girls each (alternate every other week with the B team) • Developmental Team- C Team • Play before all 7th grade home games. Starts at 4:00

  18. 8th grade Volleyball • A- Team: 10-12 Girls • B-Team: 10-12 Girls • Practice Squad: Those that did not make the team but want to play in High School • Practice from 4:00-5:00 with traveling teams

Volleyball Practice Times • 7th Grade Travel teams • Locker room opens at 6:45 a.m. and we are on the court stretching at 7:00 a.m. • 7th grade C Team • On the court at 8:00 a.m. • Girls will have time to get dressed and go to breakfast during 1st period • 8th Grade • Practice ends at 5:00 p.m.

  20. Volleyball Games • B-Team is asked to stay and watch the A-Team game • After the conclusion of A-Team, a Parent CANsign out with the coach to take daughter home. • Everyone else rides the bus back to North Ridge • Parents need to arrive no later than 15 minutes after the bus returns!
