  1. Homeopathic Concepts

  2. What is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is a system of natural health care that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. Homeopathy treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their own healing ability. A homeopath selects the most appropriate medicine based on the individual's specific symptoms and personal level of health. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as the second largest therapeutic system in use in the world. While it is most popular in India and South America, over thirty million people in Europe, and millions of others around the world, also benefit from its use.

  3. What Is the Placebo Effect? A placebo is anything that seems to be a "real" medical treatment -- but isn't. It could be a pill, a shot, or some other type of "fake" treatment. What all placebos have in common is that they do not contain an active substance meant to affect health.

  4. The Matter of Placebo Effect Studies show that placebos can have an effect on conditions such as: Depression ● Pain ● Sleep disorders ● Irritable bowel syndrome ● Menopause ●

  5. How Are Placebos Used? Researchers use placebos during studies to help them understand what effect a new drug or some other treatment might have on a particular condition. For instance, some people in a study might be given a new drug to lower cholesterol. Others would get a placebo. None of the people in the study will know if they got the real treatment or the placebo. Researchers then compare the effects of the drug and the placebo on the people in the study. That way, they can determine the effectiveness of the new drug and check for side effects.

  6. How Does the Placebo Effect Work? Research on the placebo effect has focused on the relationship of mind and body. One of the most common theories is that the placebo effect is due to a person's expectations. If a person expects a pill to do something, then it's possible that the body's own chemistry can cause effects similar to what a medication might have caused.

  7. Homeopathy is Placebo Because There is Nothing in the Remedies The very first problem with this idea is that it sweeps under the rug all of the experience of millions of people whose disease they no longer suffer from. In other words science adapts theory to experiment. The critics adapt the other way around. It cannot work because there is nothing in it. The same elementary argument was given the Galileo, Newton etc… today Prof Luc Montagnier and anybody else who does not fit the mold.

  8. What is a Remedy? Homeopathic remedies are made by homeopathic pharmacies in accordance with the processes described in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, the official manufacturing manual recognized by the FDA. The substances may be made from plants such as aconite, dandelion, plantain; from minerals such as iron phosphate, arsenic oxide, sodium chloride; from animals such as the venom of a number of poisonous snakes, or the ink of the cuttlefish. These substances are diluted carefully until little of the original remains.
