Habitat And What They Eat Cheetahs lived throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Southern Asia. • They prey on all sorts of mammals including gazelles, impala, wildebeest, and antelopes, and smaller prey such as hares, ground birds, and warthogs. When cheetahs hunt on their own they often eat baby zebras and wildebeests. When they hunt in packs they often take adult zebras and wildebeests.
What Hunts Cheetahs Humans hunt cheetahs for there own benefit. Competing predators such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, brown hyenas, and wild dogs.
How Will Not Having Them Affect The Environment? Not having Cheetahs can affect the environment by the food chain. Cheetahs eat Zebras and if Cheetahs did not exist the Zebra population would increase and since they eat grass that can affect the environment in various ways. For example the grass would be eaten by the zebras and that would decrease the insects population.
The Endangered Cheetah • Cheetahs are endangered because of, Loss of habitat and prey to commercial/free hold farming and development. Prosecution by farmers as vermin or livestock killing conflict animals or the illegal taking of an animal.
What Is Being Done To Protect Cheetahs? • There is a save the Cheetahs Petition to help the Cheetahs live there life.
Why I Choose This Organism? I choose the Cheetah because this organism is very fast and important to the food chain.
