Notes What We’ve Been Learning -Next week, we will have a new word sort. It will be sent home with your child on Monday. -Thank you for coming in to meet with me this week. It is always nice to be able to sit down and discuss how your child is doing in class. I am really proud of all of the kids. They are working so hard this year! -Monday we will have our Veteran’s assembly. Students can wear red, white, and blue. -Next week we will read 2 stories about owls in our reading anthologies. One story will be fiction and one will be nonfiction. We will compare the two stories. There will NOT be reading homework next week, except for the reading log. We will not have a reading test next week either. -This week in reading we focused on monitoring and clarifying our reading. We should always ask ourselves if we understand the story. If we do, then we can continue to read. If we don’t, then we can reread, read ahead, or look at the pictures to clarify. -In Math, we worked on estimating total cost and changes in temperature. Please continue to work on making estimates at home. -We wrapped up Unit 2 in Social Studies. Hopefully, next week we can start our next Science unit on Solids and Liquids. Feel free to check out the review guide online if you would like to get a head start on the vocabulary and concepts.
