  2. TC 77 Strategic Policy Statement • « The main task of TC 77 (and its subcommittees) is to prepare basic documents, with regard to the specification of electromagnetic environments, emission, immunity, test procedures, measurement techniques, etc. » www.schaffner.com

  3. Structure of IEC TC 77 • TC 77 scope: prepare EMC standards and reports with emphasis on basic immunity and emission standards. Support product committees on request. www.schaffner.com

Basic EMC Standards • The basic EMC standards and other publications: • give the general rules to achieve Electromagnetic Compatibility • may be applied by all product families • serve as reference documents for the product committees • are developed by TC 77 of IEC and taken by CENELEC with no or slight amendments www.schaffner.com

Basic EMC Standards 1 • The basic EMC publications: • a) may be standards or technical reports • b) are general  not dedicated to a specific product • c) concern: • terminology (61000-1-y) • description of EM phenomena (61000-2-y) • description and classification of the environment (61000-2-y) • specification of compatibility levels (61000-3-y) • general requirements for emission limitation (61000-3-y) • suggested test levels with regard to the immunity of equipment (61000-4-y) • measurement and test techniques (61000-4-y) • installation guidelines (61000-5-y) www.schaffner.com
